A comprehensive collection of newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic, minority, and native press. Includes articles, editorials, and reviews. Articles appear in either English or Spanish and may be searched in the language of the article. This database is designed to give the "other side of the story" from that offered by the mainstream press.
Search tips:
- Start your search by selecting either English or Spanish search from the main page.
- To limit your search by ethnic group, use the ethnic group drop down box.
- The biographical (personal profiles) limiter is useful for locating articles that provide both encyclopedic information as well as more anecdotal material about a person's life. Check the limit results box on either the basic or advanced search page.
- If you are looking for longer, more in depth articles, make use of the word count limiter. Type in WRD(>2000) to find articles containing 2000 words or more. It is also possible to limit articles to scholarly journals, by checking this limiter.
Where is it :
Go to the UNLV Libraries' home page. Under Find, select Articles, then under Article databases by name, click on the letter E and select Ethnic NewsWatch.
