Interlibrary Loan (ILL) assists UNLV students, staff, and faculty in accessing resources that are not available from the UNLV Libraries. We are able to obtain most books, articles, conference papers, government publications, and dissertations through our network of lending libraries.
Requests for materials can be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week through ILLiad, our interlibrary loan management system. In order to register for and use ILLiad, you must have an active RebelCard that is clear of fees. Also, you must have an active UNLV email account (RebelMail for students; Lotus Notes for faculty/staff).
Article requests are delivered electronically, usually within 48 hours; book requests take between one and five weeks. There is no charge for using Interlibrary Loan, however, requests for expensive items may be cancelled at the discretion of ILL staff.
Requests for items that are owned by the UNLV Libraries will be cancelled. Options are available if you can't find an item or it's checked out. If you need assistance determining whether or not the UNLV Libraries own a particular title, please contact the Research and Information desk at (702) 895-2100 or use the online Ask a Librarian service.
Books and microforms may be checked out from Lied Library’s Circulation Desk, or a branch library service desk (if you requested to pick your item(s) up there). Copies of articles are yours to keep.
Renewals for books are granted at the discretion of the lending library, and should be requested four days before the item is due. Renewal requests may be placed online through your ILLiad account by clicking “View/Renew Checked Out Items”. You will receive an email from the ILL office indicating that your renewal request was granted or denied. Items marked “NO RENEWALS” on the book band aren’t eligible.

Interlibrary Loan staff are available most hours that Lied Library is open , however, specialists are generally available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
