CML Computers

The CML currently provides access to a total of 29 computer workstations, including an 18-computer classroom for scheduled instruction sessions. These 18 computers are available to patrons on a first come, first served basis during library hours when classes are not scheduled in the area. The CML also allows wireless laptop connection within our library.

Laptops
The CML has 5 Dell Latitude D610 laptops for checkout by CML patrons. These laptops may be checked out for up to three hours with a three hour renewal depending on availability. There is a $20 late charge per hour or portion of an hour the laptop is late. Please see library staff for other information.

Login
To login to the UNLV Libraries computers you must have an updated Rebel ID Card. Log in using the long barcode on the back of the Rebel ID Card as the username and the last 4 digits of your telephone number as the password.

Software/Hardware
Information on the standard software and hardware specifications of the UNLV Libraries workstations. Specialized software on the CML workstations include Inspiration 7.6, which is a diagramming and outlining software used across curriculum for concept mapping and critical thinking in the classroom.

USB
The UNLV Libraries allow the use of the USB connections located in the front of the workstations. This includes use with portable USB-based devices such as flash-based memory readers (memory sticks, secure digital, etc.), digital camera connections, etc. The patron assumes all responsibility in attaching personal hardware to library workstations. The Libraries are not responsible for any damage done to patron-owned items (hardware/software/personal data) as a result of connecting such devices to library workstations.

Scanners
There are three Canon Canoscan 8400F scanners with Canoscan Toolbox 4.9 software in the CML. They are located at the ADA workstation and in the media room. The Canoscan Toolbox 4.9 software will guide you through any projects you may have.

CD/DVD
Each workstation has a CD-ROM player/burner and DVD player. Roxio CD Creator software is installed for easy media creation.
