Project Name: Helfrich Residence
|
||
Project description/narrative: Purpose of the project: Patrick Helfrich, the homeowner, wanted an environment with a resort feel to it for his new custom home. The homeowner stated that he worked long hours and took few vacations. He wanted his home to act as a retreat and vacation environment. He also enjoyed entertaining large groups as well as small intimate outdoor dinner parties. Even though he wanted a grand vacation type outdoor environment, he still wanted to be able to feel comfortable if it was just him relaxing and reading a book in a spiritual nook. Goals of the project: To balance hardscape elements such as fountains, flagstone, pool/spa, fire pit and an outdoor kitchen with a softscape that is tropical in appearance but not so delicate that it takes a horticulturist to maintain it. Objectives of project: To have many outdoor rooms function by themselves or as a whole. This would then allow the homeowner to simply enjoy an individual space by himself or entertain both large and small groups in the outdoor space that functions as one. Most notable aspects:
