When I first arrived on site to meet the owner/builder, I could tell that the architecture was going to demand a bold complimentary landscape. The owner had a very distinct taste in materials, leaning heavily for the modern palette. The architectonic forms protruding from the residence needed to be echoed into the landscape. This was accomplished through the use of curvilinear lines in the entry path and the control joint layout in the courtyard and driveway layout. Colored exposed aggregate concrete was installed to marry the rock veneer of the house with the ground plane. The plant palette was chosen for the textures but also the reliability throughout the year to show well in each season afforded Las Vegas.

Lily turf, Blue Fescue, Mugo Pine, Black Pine, Weeping Blue Cedar, Euonymus, Black and Golden Bamboos join in the landscape to lay off of each other and the rhythmic lines of the house.
