Howryla Residence The Howryla Residence was a design that required a few key elements that had to flow into each other, yet retain the individual space. The program called for children’s play area, outdoor dining and BBQ, pool/spa, sufficient amount of deck and storage. The pool and spa were designed and placed as to maximize the play area to the north side of the back yard while providing moving water close to the house to mentally cool those not physically utilizing the waters. This created a north leg area for the active play area. Close enough for close supervision while distancing the action from more passive activities. The outdoor dining and BBQ are right off the back door allowing for ease of kitchen access for supplies. The play area, enough turf to allow for football and baseball throwing, is bordered by soft, forgiving plant material. The sand box is attached to a seat wall acting as a sand retainer, seat, climbing apparatus, and shelf. |
