Lora Jean Jordan Peluso passed away in Emeryville on March 7th, 2002, after a short but valiant battle against pancreatic cancer. Born on February 13th, 1941 in Hobbs New Mexico, Lora grew up in Lovington New Mexico, was a long time Oakland and recent Las Vegas resident and business woman. She was an alum of Cal, which she attended during the turbulent 60's while raising three small children as a single mother, and was a well known member of the Bay Area Insurance industry. Most recently, Lora was managing an insurance agency in Las Vegas, Nevada, before returning to the East Bay upon the onset of her illness. She was a dedicated fan of the Oakland Raiders, so much so that she was a season ticket holder who would fly to Oakland just to see the games! Lora was an active member of APWA and ACEC and a woman who truly loved to travel. She is survived by her brother, James Jordan of Kansas City MO, her son William 'Jack' Peluso, and daughters Tandra Ericson and Toni Peluso, all of Oakland. She was the devoted Grandmother of Sven and Sean Ericson, with whom she traveled and shared the lessons of her life. She will be greatly missed, and always remembered, by those who knew and loved her.
