UNLV School of Architecture
welcomed Dave Hickey on
March 26, 2003 Dave Hickey, University of Nevada, Las Vegas
professor of art theory and criticism, speaks in the Paul B. Sogg
architecture builidng on the UNLV campus. He compares John Ruskin,
who was an artist of the nineteenth century and was enthusiastic
about the medieval Gothic style of architecture, and Andrea Palladio,
a sixteenth-century architect who wanted to rid Italy of foreign
Gothic influence and to encourage the rise of neoclassical architecture.
