Following the web-cast the Natural Energies Advanced Technologies (NEAT) Laboratory and the Architecture Studies Library presented a panel discussion:

The 2030 Challenge: Environmental Design in the Face of Climate Change Discussion Panel
February 20th from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM at the Architecture Studies Library

  • Panel members included:

    DVD/VHS of this very interesting event is now available-ask at the ASL Service Desk.
  • During this panel discussion, the 2030 Challenge- Environmental Design in the Face of Climate Change DVD, a multimedia resource developed by the NEAT Laboratory to increase the environmental literacy of students, faculty, and practicing professionals in the architecture, planning, and design communities, was introduced.

  • The "Global Emergency Teach-in: The 2010 Imperative" and the "Panel Discussion" were free and open to the public.

2010 Imperative web-cast:

The 2010 Imperative, a global initiative unveiled by Architect Edward Mazria at UNLV during the Fall 2006 Klai Juba Lecture Series, will link during an interactive web-cast broadcast live from New York to over 500,000 students, faculty, deans and practicing professionals in the architecture, planning and design communities in both North and South America on February 20th.

This teach-in will address the impending need to consider and respond to energy and environmental design issues as we expand and renovate our built environment.

Four eminent speakers
  • Dr. James Hansen (Head of NASA Goddard Institute)
  • Architect Edward Mazria (Founder- Architecture 2030)
  • Architect Chris Luebkeman (Director-Global Foresight and Innovation Initiative),
  • Ms. Susan Szenasy (Editor-in-chief : Metropolis magazine)
