B06009 Design Approach/Narrative: Design was modeled after the tenants development of slot machine systems and models. The tilt panel contraction was functional with the exterior ‘jewel’ located at the showroom adjacent the front entry sparkles at night to attract attention from vehicular and airport traffic. The interior design showcased the slot machine showroom with high ceilings and flowing suspended ceilings signifying Konami meaning “small wave.” Konami is an expanding slot machine and systems development company that wanted a building that would proved state of the art infrastructure for their ever advancing technological market. In addition the space provides open space planning and natural light for a better work environment. The project had an extremely tight construction schedule and square footage requirements of the tenant expanded during construction. It was necessary to add additional 3000 sf to the 40,000 sf office while the construction documents were in final permitting.
