When: Friday, January 24th, 1 - 3 p.m.
Campus Location: Lied Library, Goldfield Room, 3rd Floor
African Americans have made Las Vegas home since the turn of the 20th century. Their contributions have enriched Southern Nevada and continue to pave the way for future generations. Members of the local black community and African American organizations, in partnership with the African American Collaborative, joined to collect and preserve this rich history. And now, through the Documenting the African American Experience in Las Vegas website, it is accessible to everyone. We look forward to seeing you on January 24 to celebrate the official launch of this important website portal — and pay tribute to the legacy of our region’s black ancestors.
This event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
